The Sideshow Ensemble @ Actors Bridge presents the Nashville premiere of the Oppenheimer Award winner for best New York debut by an American playwright.  THE FLU SEASON is, “A play about the difficulty of love, the difficulty of being human, of making art." The House of Bernarda Alba by Federico Garcia Lorca

Directed by Jessika Malone

Starring Vali Forrister as Bernarda Alba
Feb 17-23 & 24-26, 2012 - Belmont's Troutt Theatre

A collaboration with Belmont University Department of Theatre and Dance

This masterpiece of the modern theatre explodes onstage with professional actors alongside student performers giving life to Lorca’s final work before his assassination by fascists who wished to censor him during the Spanish Civil War. Incorporating music, dance, and shadow puppetry in a bold new interpretation, this production illuminates the devastating effects of tyranny on the human spirit.

Following Sarah and James, a photojournalist and foreign correspondent trying to find happiness in a world that seems to have gone mad. Theirs is a partnership based on telling the toughest stories, and together, making a difference. But when their own story takes a sudden turn, the adventurous couple confronts the prospect of a more conventional life... and everything changes -- in a flash. "A powerful drama... crackles with bright wit and intelligence." -- The New York Times
